New Duran clubhouse grand opening raises funds for Red Cross

VIERA, Fla. -- Duran Golf Club welcomed over 200 of Brevard’s community leaders, partners and friends to celebrate the Grand Opening of their beautiful British West Indies-style clubhouse on Friday, June 15, 2007. This extravagant facility opened to the beat of a soft drum in March 2007 with a strategic crescendo leading up to this opening night of tropical attire, drinks, music, food and fun. The evening also helped to raise support and awareness for the Space Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross by raffling gift baskets valued over $500. Open to the public, this clubhouse has the look, feel and prestige of a private club. Best of all, Duran knows how to throw a party!

Included in the festivities were a caricature artist, Jeff Mandel who produced comically accurate drawings of those who posed and magician Scott Barhold to add some games and mystery to the evening. “We required tropical attire on this night for a reason”, said General Manager David Tomczak, “This evening was designed to encourage relaxation and island fun for those who have supported us along the way and to introduce the clubhouse to the community in a fun fashion.”
Among those in attendance for this tropical affair were County Commissioner Mary Bolin, The Viera Company President Steve Johnson, A Duda and Sons Executive Vice President Barton Weeks, and representatives from companies such as Health First Inc., Florida Today, Lennar Homes, Toll Brothers, ESPN Radio, Melbourne Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce, Brevard County School Board, William Glover Construction, BSE Consultants, Holeman Suman Architects, Devereux , Brevard Zoo, Red Cross and many more.
An exquisite design to complement the state-of-the-art golf facility, the clubhouse provides a large dinning room, a bar/lounge area, professional golf shop and a beautiful, covered veranda over looking the sparkling lakes around the finishing greens. The facility boasts the perfect atmosphere for a luxurious wedding, reception, social or business event.

“This clubhouse truly defines the standard of golf and luxury that the Duran Golf Club is known for”says general manager David Tomczak. “We are very excited to be able to offer this beautiful clubhouse as an amenity to our golfers and the community.”

For your own tropical escape, visit Duran daily for lunch, Sunday brunch and dinner on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Menus can currently be found online at WWW.DURANGOLF.COM.
