Mark Woodward, golf operations manager for the City of San Diego, is likely to be one of the most visible administrators in the golf industry for the next year. Woodward is the man in charge on the scene for San Diego's most famous course, Torrey Pines South, which will host the U.S. Open next June.
Since his arrival in San Diego in February 2005, Woodward has balanced the dual roles of preparing Torrey South to become the first city-owned course to host the Open and managing Torrey South's sister North course and the city's other courses at Balboa Park and Mission Bay.
Woodward, one of Golf Inc.'s Most Admired Operators for 2006, will have many things to share with our attendees during an updated session titled "Renovations that Work," featuring secrets from PGA tour hosts at the Golf Inc. Conference on October 1st – 3rd. Make sure you don't miss this dynamic session.
Other industry leaders scheduled to speak at La Quinta include Tom Doak , architect for Renaissance Golf Course Design, Brian Whitcomb, president of the PGA of America, Dana Garmany, chairman & CEO of Troon Golf and Henry Delozier, vice president of golf for Pulte Homes.
