Buick announces dates for Scramble National Championships

DETROIT – Dec. 15, 2004 – Buick and The PGA of America have announced the tournament dates for the 2005 Buick Scramble National Championships. Taking place on six-premier golf courses in Orlando, Fla. the Buick Scramble National Championships will be scheduled for Oct. 13-16, 2005.

Entering its 22nd season as the world’s largest amateur golf tournament, the Buick Scramble is open to amateurs of all ages and skill levels with certified USGA Handicap Indexes.

The 2005 Buick Scramble season will kick-off in February with local championships throughout the U.S. during the spring and summer months. Winning teams from the local championships will advance with their respective PGA Professionals to compete in PGA Sectional Championship competition. Two winning teams from each PGA Sectional Championship (one net, one gross) will advance to compete in the 2005 Buick Scramble National Championships in October.

Buick is entering its fourth year as the official car of The PGA of America and the title-sponsor of the Buick Scramble.

Buick is the official car of golf and the original corporate sponsor of the PGA Tour. Buick has an endorsement agreement with Tiger Woods and is the title-sponsor of three PGA Tour events in 2005: The Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, Calif. (Jan. 17-23); the Buick Open at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Mich. (July 25-31); and the Buick Championship at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. (Aug. 22-28). Buick has donated more than 29 million dollars to local charities from proceeds raised through its PGA Tour events.
