FAIRFAX, Calif. -- The Northern California Superintendent-Professional Tournament is slated for Monday June 11, 2007 at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. The two-person team event will pair a golf course superintendent with a golf professional partner from the same club. Prior to teeing off on the prized MacKenzie designed course, players will catch wisdom about teambuilding, leaders and champions from motivational speaker Jim Tunney, Ed.D., a former NFL referee and member of the prestigious NFL Hall of Fame.

During his 30-plus years as a respected NFL official, Tunney (known to many as the Dean of NFL Referees) learned plenty about teambuilding and is prepared to share his knowledge with those in the golf industry. Tunney is an accomplished author and will provide a copy of his latest book It’s the Will, Not the Skill to all players competing in the team event.

In addition to his passion for writing, Tunney is a highly-regarded member of the National Speakers Association and a frequent keynote presenter at Fortune 500 corporate events. Tunney, a true golfer who holds immense appreciation for the game and all that it represents, bases his company Jim Tunney Associates, Inc., from Carmel by-the-Sea, Calif., along the breath-taking Monterey Peninsula.

The Superintendent-Professional tournament is held annually in Northern California, and always at an impressive venue. In recent times the event has transformed into a multi-dimensional experience with the on-course team competition, an inspiring educational component, and an opportunity for plenty of camaraderie between course superintendents and their pro partners.
