PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Daphne’s Headcovers, the original headcover company, today announced record sales growth for the current year-to-date. The steady growth has exceeded the company’s most optimistic projections for 2007.

Jane Spicer, president of Daphne’s Headcovers, explained, “We’re very excited at the growth of our company this year. When we set our responsible yearly sales projections, we always increase those numbers to set our goals a bit higher. This year’s sales-to-date are running almost 13% over our most optimistic projections.”

Spicer attributes the growth to continued unparalleled service to Daphne’s Headcovers’ current customer base as well as a sustained effort to reach out to new clients. “In our international business for instance,” Spicer revealed, “we are up almost 25% over last year’s record numbers.”

Spicer sees this growth as an encouraging sign for business in general and for the golf business in particular. “Our retail partners are reporting excellent sell-through with our headcovers,” Spicer said. “Two new products we’ve recently introduced have been leading the way. Our new hybrid covers are selling well beyond projections and our new Heads and Tails covers are very hot with major golf shops around the country.” Daphne’s Headcovers has also introduced an embroidery program which has shown strong increases.

“I’m sure our presence on the professional golf tours has given us a boost,” Spicer said. “It’s very gratifying to watch golf on television and see Daphne’s being carried by so many professionals.”

Spicer also credits a passionate staff for the strong sales numbers. “Our regional account managers are doing a marvelous job,” she explained, “but a big pat-on-the-back has to go to everyone from our designers to shipping department that get our products into the retail locations. It’s impossible to sustain this growth without them.”
