PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Half a year in operation and approximately twenty thousand visitors. This is the current balance of the new Café & Bar Hole in One golf design restaurant at Terminal North 1 in Prague Ruzyne Airport. The positive response which the restaurant earned in Czech and international media and especially the enthusiastic reactions from clients from and outside the golf community seems to be the reason for interest among international investors.
Several international companies contacted Ramses Air, s.r.o. operating the Prague-Ruzyne International Airport. It is very likely that there will be more Café & Bar Hole in One outlets opening at other airports worldwide in the form of franchises. "I can confirm serious interest from several potential partners. The negotiations have so far developed to the greatest extent with investors from the United Arab Emirates who wish to open the same restaurant as in Ruzyne at Dubai Airport," says Zdenek Vesely, chief executive of Ramses Air.
The connection between the country in the Persian Gulf and a golf restaurant is quite obvious. There are new artificial resorts being opened there and golf has become an important tourist attraction of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and other countries. This destination is also supported by Czech golfers of whom great numbers pay a visit to Café & Bar Hole in One before departing from Ruzyne.
The export of the Café & Bar Hole in One brand would be an extraordinary success of Czech marketing in gastronomy, especially when chains like Starbucks have been expanding in the Czech Republic. "After half a year of operation, I can confirm our expectation that the restaurant is also attractive for those who have never put their feet on a green," says Zdenek Vesely. "From what I hear, people appreciate the style, the atmosphere, the uniqueness."
Representatives of Ramses Air, associated with a large domestic gastronomy operator, Fast Food Servis, a.s., also suggest that the restaurant’s success at Terminal North 1 will find continuity at Ruzyne Airport. It is very likely that the stylish atmosphere devoted to golf will soon be ready to please the passengers heading to Schengen Agreement countries at Terminal North 2.
Café & Bar offers a total of 101 square metres and a capacity of 65 seats. The design concept was conceived at Drobny Architects, a studio which has already designed several other gastronomy outlets at Ruzyne Airport. Architect Ivan Drobny says: “Golf is suggested in the green colour, the use of raked sand under the glass floor and hundreds of balls – in the form of balloon lamps, balls staked under the bar, and under glass and hollow table bases. There are real golf clubs and bags displayed in showcases and elsewhere.”
"There had been no similar club in the Czech Republic. Thanks to its opening, this attractive sport, which is no longer the domain of just managers and entrepreneurs, will find some new players, even from outside the country – there are more and more golf courses opening in the Czech Republic, which is becoming ever more prestigious in the world of golf," said Lubos Pasek, marketing director of Medea Kultur, a marketing partner of the Czech Golf Federation, during the restaurant opening ceremony.
