Jacobsen Management Group appoints Bill Norris Vice President

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jacobsen Management Group (JMG) announced that it has appointed sports marketing veteran William (Bill) Norris to Executive Vice President.

Norris comes to JMG after 11 years at Edelman Sports & Sponsorship Marketing in Chicago, where he served as executive vice president, deputy general manager of the sports marketing practice at the world's largest independent PR firm.

While at Edelman, Norris directed sports marketing, sponsorship consulting and strategic communications programs on behalf of blue chip brands including Cub Cadet, Yard-Man, Burger King, Shell Oil, Office Depot, Microsoft, The Boeing Company, Target, UPS, Got Milk?, Golf Pride, Bayer, Sears, Yum! Brands, NIKE, Kraft Foods and Nabisco among others.

He also acted as consultant to numerous leagues, teams, and players' associations, such as MLB, MLBPA, NHLPA, Chicago Shamrox (NLL), and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI). Norris served on Edelman's executive committee and helped create Columbia College's Creative Sports Marketing department while serving as an adjunct professor. He also is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA).

At his new post, Norris will team with executive vice presidents Mike Galeski and Ed Kiernan to help manage day-to-day operations and marketing of JMG, the holding company of Peter Jacobsen Productions (PJP) – a full service sports marketing and event management firm.
