Quintero Golf and Country Club, Peoria, Ariz., hosted its second annual Quintero Golf Event this spring to benefit The Environmental Institute for Golf.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cactus & Pine Golf Course Superintendents Association's Environmental and Golf Foundation. In addition to the tournament, a silent auction was conducted, resulting in a total contribution to The Institute of more than $35,000.
Co-hosts for the event were Quintero owner-developer Gary McClung and Chairman/CEO of Troon Golf, Dana Garmany. Both are members of The Institute's Advisory Council.
"We were able to build on the success of last year's inaugural event with another successful tournament and silent auction," McClung said.
"At Troon Golf we have made a commitment to further the compatibility of golf with the environment," Garmany said. "This event raised a significant amount of money toward connecting golf and the environment, and we look forward to building upon it in the future."
