Postband Challenge presented by Marcel Siem changes dates

Marcel Siem has spoken of his delight at being able to take part in his own European Challenge Tour tournament, the POSTBANK Challenge presented by Marcel Siem, thanks to a change of date for the event.

Siem is now able to fully commit to playing in the event, to be played over the Golfclub Mülheim an der Ruhr, after a new date was agreed with the Challenge Tour following the cancellation of the 2007 Thomas Björn Open.

The POSTBANK Challenge presented by Marcel Siem will now take place from August 23-26, allowing the 2006 German World Cup winner to compete once more on the tour that helped launch his career.

Siem, who played on the Challenge Tour in seasons 2001 and 2002 before becoming a European Tour champion at the Dunhill Championship in 2004, took the decision to stage a Challenge Tour event in his homeland at the beginning of this year.

“I am delighted that now, with the change of date, I will be able to play in my tournament at Golfclub Mülheim an der Ruhr,” said Siem.

“I said right from the outset that it was always my intention to play in the event if we could find a suitable date that would allow me to do so, and now we have.

“The Challenge Tour continues to get stronger and prosper every year and I hope that my tournament – with the help and backing of sponsors POSTBANK – can be a part of that for many years to come.”
