Greg Hall, GCSAA Class A superintendent at Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, Wash., and Harry Lovero, GCSAA Class A superintendent at Orchard Valley Golf Course, Aurora, Ill., were big winners in a contest promoted by Bayer Environmental Science at the Golf Industry Show.
The pair was selected as winners of Sharp LCD televisions from entries submitted by attendees who completed a plot tour survey during GIS in Anaheim, Calif.
Participants toured plots of untreated, diseased turfgrass as well as turf treated with Lynx fungicide, Tartan insecticide and Chipco Signature fungicide from Bayer ES. For further comparison and to showcase the efficacy of the Bayer products, examples of turfgrass treated with fungicides of competing companies were also displayed.
"We had a great response to our plot tour," said Mike Daly, business manager, fungicides for Bayer. "The television giveaway was a great way to reward the attendees who completed the survey."
