SANTA PAULA, Calif. -- Marta Systems, a leading Internet weather data provider has teamed with Thor Guard’s expertise in lightning prediction to create a severe weather advance warning product named THORNET, a network of lightning prediction sensors that delivers real-time lightning prediction data.

Thor Guard’s lightning prediction systems deliver various warning levels depending on the threat of a lightning strike. These systems can send sensor data across the Internet to Marta Systems’ THORNET Servers.

THORNET data is then accessed from the national servers by customers using Marta Systems' Yosemite meteorological software .

Marta Systems’ Yosemite software acquires and display THORNET sensor data and supports threshold alarms for the various warning stages of the data. Yosemite is the exclusive display software for use with THORNET data, except where the end user customer utilizes a browser to view THORNET imagery from Thor Guard or Marta Systems’ websites.

Marta Systems and Thor Guard jointly operate THORNET data service. Marta Systems developed, owns and maintains the THORNET data servers at its facility in Santa Paula, CA.
Marta Systems is an authorized sales representative of Thor Guard for implementation of Thor Guard lightning prediction hardware and THORNET network-associated implementations.
