Tucson-Old Pueblo EWGA Chapter celebrates its 10th anniversary

TUCSON, AZ. – Dec. 6, 2004 – The Tucson-Old Pueblo Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association will celebrate its 10th anniversary during the 2005 golf season.

At last month’s annual meeting, the 130–plus member Tucson chapter celebrated its second consecutive year of recognition as a Chapter of Excellence in a league that boasts more than 110 chapters in the United States and Canada. To be recognized as a Chapter of Excellence, local chapters must achieve established goals in governance, membership, education, events, communications and public relations, leadership and sponsorship. The Tucson-Old Pueblo Chapter was one of only 26 chapters to be honored with this award.

Local members also elected a slate of officers and a 14-member board of directors who are planning an extensive menu of monthly golf, educational, social and networking events to celebrate the chapter’s 10th anniversary in the coming year. Events are open to members and guests. The EWGA is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1991 to provide opportunities for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. The Tucson – Old Pueblo Chapter welcomes new, beginning and experienced golfers and offers league-play opportunities as well as flighted, competitive and team golf events.

EWGA members may choose to play in chapter, sectional, regional and national competitions and events. The Tucson – Old Pueblo Chapter has been represented at all of these events throughout its history and boasts a past national champion.
