BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Fred Griffith from Spartanburg, SC will be in Myrtle Beach for the Hootie and the Blowfish celebrity charity golf event, “Monday After Masters”. Fred’s production company is in development with the life story of NASCAR legend Junior Johnson. He along with Chris Mulkey (of Radio and Broken Trail) adapted the screenplay, which has been optioned by Sara Risher (Producer) and Donald Zuckerman (Producer). Lucas Black (also playing in golf tournament) of Friday Nights Lights and Fast and Furious/Tokyo Drift, is currently attached to star as Junior Johnson and Fred and Chris are also set to co-star and Executive Produce.
Fred is excited about returning to his home state to support a great cause. He is looking forward to seeing some old friends and family along with helping raise money for these charities. Some of Fred’s films as an actor include Gods and Generals, The Last Confederate, Miracle at Sage Creek (Hallmark) and he just wrapped on Ghost Town, which was filmed in Maggie Valley, NC and is due to release in November.
