41st Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The 41st Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, will be held the week of Sept. 27 - Oct. 2, 2016, during a year when the PGA of America celebrates its centennial and golf returns to the Olympic Games.

The Ryder Cup, one of the most compelling events in sports, will have an October conclusion for the first time since 2010 and only the second time in more than 30 years.

Hazeltine National Golf Club, home for many memorable U.S. major championships, was selected in 2002 as the site of the 41st Ryder Cup. In 2016, the PGA of America marks its centennial during a year when golf returns to the Olympics Games, Aug. 5-21, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

"The year 2016 promises to be one of the most significant years in golf, and the PGA of America is excited that it will host to the Ryder Cup that year at Hazeltine National Golf Club, a course that has a proven track record in hosting premier events," said PGA of America President Ted Bishop. "Hazeltine National Golf Club, a wonderfully challenging layout, is well known to many of the finest players on both sides of the Atlantic. We anticipate the outstanding sports fans of the Twin Cities area will again turn out to support one of the greatest events in golf."
