ANNIKA Academy's ELITE Training Program athlete roster for 2014-15

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The ANNIKA Academy - Hall-of-Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam's boutique golf instruction and fitness school - announces seven players have enrolled in its full-time ELITE Training Program for 2014-15.

Using Annika's "Winning Approach" philosophy, the ELITE Training Program is specifically designed to help aspiring golfers achieve their goals on the golf course, in the classroom and in life.

Day-to-day instruction is led by LPGA winner and 1993 NCAA Champion, Charlotta Sorenstam, and Henri Reis, Annika's only swing coach since she was 10 years old. This is complemented by Annika, an eight-time Rolex LPGA Player of the Year and 10-time major champion, personally sharing her "Your 59" mental training and visualization strategies with students.

"The ELITE Training Program's level of instruction is unmatched," says David Allibone, Athlete Recruiter. "No other curriculum combines unfettered access to a multiple major winner, NCAA champion and architect of perhaps the most repeatable swing in golf history with personally-tailored fitness and nutrition regimens, comfortable housing and premier educational opportunities."

Several of the students will reside full-time at the Academy's home of Reunion Resort, featuring three signature golf courses, multiple restaurants, a water park and more. Some will attend award-winning Windermere Preparatory School, while others are enrolled at highly-regarded Lake Nona High School.

The promising juniors who begin training in August are:

• Veronica Vetesnik - Veronica will be returning for her second year at the ANNIKA Academy. She has won two tournaments this summer in Canada and will be playing in July's Optimist International Championship at PGA National Resort. She is being recruited by a number of leading colleges.

• Viviana Vazquez - Viviana is also returning for her second year. She tied for first place at the 2014 FCWT Tour Championship, shooting an impressive five-under-par over 54 holes. Rollins College, Lynn University and University of Texas-San Antonio are among the programs pursuing her signature.

• Rachel Liu - Rachel is the veteran of the group, returning for her third year. A native of China, Rachel carded a seven-under-par score at a 2014 Suncoast Tour event. Only a sophomore, she is one of the top junior golfers in the country.

• Georgy Chernov - Georgy is from Moscow, Russia and new to the ELITE Training Program after attending another academy in the Orlando area. He will be living full-time in Academy housing at Reunion.

• Maxims Zarudnyy - Maxims is also from Moscow and, like Georgy, was previously enrolled in another area academy. He will also live full-time at Reunion.

• Isabella Wang - Isabella has only been playing competitive golf for 1.5 years, but shows great promise. New to the ELITE Program, she recently shot 73 in competition and carries a 4.4 GPA. She is being recruited by programs offering an excellent mix of academics and athletics.

• Robert Manalo - Robert is from Barrigada, Guam and also new to the program. A junior in high school, he will live full-time at Reunion. He is joining the ELITE Program to help realize his dream of earning a collegiate scholarship, despite only playing competitively for two years.

Recent ELITE Program Athletes realizing their dreams of playing collegiate golf include Shannon Aubert (Stanford University), Samantha Wagner (University of Florida) and Simin Feng (Vanderbilt University and 2014 Individual SEC Champion).

The ELITE program also caters to professionals aspiring to take the next step in their competitive careers. Some who have relied upon the ELITE program include Anna Nordqvist (2009 LPGA Champion), Jonas Blixt (two-time PGA TOUR winner) and Louise Friberg (LPGA and Symetra Tour player).
