PeakVision Sports is eyewear of Golf Channel Amateur Tour

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-- PeakVision Sports -- makers of the patented Dual-Zone lens sunglasses designed specifically for golfers -- announces it will serve as official eyewear of the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour, a nationwide series of tournaments anticipated to draw more than 5,000 players in 2007.

Participants in the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour will be eligible for discounts on PeakVision Sports sunglasses, while players who advance to the national championship tournament will receive a free pair of PEAKS. PeakVision Sports will participate in demo days at GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour sites, where players may test and purchase the sunglasses. The company will also receive exposure on the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour web site and in newsletters sent to members.

The partnership continues PeakVision Sports’ strong relationship with the GOLF CHANNEL. PeakVision Sports was named official eyewear of “The Big Break V: Hawaii,” “The Big Break VI: Trump National” as well as “The Big Break VII: Reunion,” currently airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST. PeakVision Sports also served as official eyewear of the GOLF CHANNEL Viewers Cup Championship in 2005 and 2006.

“We’re excited to have PeakVision Sports on board for the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour as past experience tells us the players will truly appreciate the benefits of these sunglasses,” saysBrian Kemp, GOLF CHANNEL Director of Events. “PeakVision Sports eyewear has proved to be a huge hit among Big Break contestants and our GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour golfers are sure to register a similar response.”

“It’s an honor to be named official eyewear of the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour, which offers a tour-like experience for amateur golfers all over the United States,” says PeakVision Sports President Scott D. Berg. “This partnership represents a great opportunity to demonstrate our product to a truly avid group of golfers in real-world conditions. We’re confident that participants in the Tour will see the difference PEAKS can make, just as so many professionals and amateurs have in recent years.”

Now in its seventh year, the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour draws a membership of golfers who play an average of 51 rounds per year. It is the largest tour of its kind in the United States, comprising more than 600 tournaments in 55 cities, with membership open to men and women in six handicap flights. Among the prestigious venues the tour will visit this year are Atlanta National Golf Club, Redstone Golf Club (Houston), Indian Wells Country Club (Palm Springs), Talking Stick Golf Club (Scottsdale) and Black Diamond Ranch (Lecanto, Fla.).

In 2006, PeakVision Sports introduced five models – EL0, EL1, SD7, DG9 and GR4 -- that have become rapidly adopted by recreational golfers and players on the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours. The company also launched the PEAKS Rx Program, allowing those with optical prescriptions to enjoy the benefits of PeakVision Sports eyewear in the EL0, EL1, SL8, SD7 and ST7 models.

PeakVision Sports sunglasses have proved highly popular among professional golfers, including 2007 LPGA rookies Kristy McPherson and Jeanne Cho-Hunicke and “Big Break VI” winner Briana Vega. PGA Tour players Billy Andrade and Scott McCarron, Champions Tour mainstay Bruce Fleisher, golf “color” commentator David Feherty, and rising LPGA Tour players Moira Dunn, Mikaela Parmlid, Beth Bader, Jean Bartholomew, Becky Morgan and Heather Young are among those professional players who count PEAKS as an integral component in their golf equipment arsenal.

In addition to golfers performing at higher levels wearing PeakVision Sports sunglasses, they are also popular among skiers, professional baseball umpires and pilots.

About PeakVision Sports

The first major lens innovation in golfer-sunglass technology in more than 40 years, PeakVision Sports’ high-performance eyewear represents a radical step forward in optical design and lens manufacturing. The vast majority of sunglasses since the 1960s have had single-filter, polycarbonate lenses incapable of properly managing the bright hues of the horizon and sky versus the dark hues of terrain and landscape.

A breakthrough in sunglass design, PeakVision Sports’ innovative Dual-Zone lenses incorporate two filters into one lens, allowing golfers to clearly distinguish between the turf and the sky to create optimal visual acuity. The material used in PeakVision Sports lenses is liquid-cast and superior to the polycarbonate used in most sunglasses.

PeakVision Sports’ “See Better, Play Better” competitive advantage is enjoyed by PGA TOUR players Billy Andrade and Scott McCarron, Champions Tour legend Bruce Fleisher, golf “color” commentator David Feherty, LPGA Tour players Kristy McPherson, Jeanne Cho-Hunicke, Moira Dunn, Mikaela Parmlid, Beth Bader, Jean Bartholomew, Becky Morgan and Heather Young, as well as Briana Vega, winner of the Golf Channel’s “The Big Break VI: Trump National.” These highly competitive golfers and hundreds of other caddies and weekend warriors have unequivocally embraced PeakVision Sports sunglasses as a valuable component in their equipment arsenal.

PeakVision Sports is affecting a paradigm shift in which sunglasses are no longer viewed as a fashion accessory, but as an essential piece of equipment, no less important than a putter, driver or wedge.
