SouthWood Golf Club hosts Tallahassee Amateur Golf Tourney

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- SouthWood Golf Club – the award winning, upscale public course at the heart of Tallahassee’s most comprehensively designed community – announces it will host the inaugural Tallahassee Amateur Golf Championship March 24-25.

The first round will be played at Killearn Country Club and Inn, and the second and final round at SouthWood. Both rounds will start at 11:30 a.m., and players must be residents of Leon County to enter (proof of residency required). The $125 entry fee includes prize fund, green/cart fees, range balls and one practice round at each course during the week of the tournament.

Players will be flighted by their handicap index and must have a valid 2007 USGA index to enter. Six flights will accommodate indexes ranging from 2.9 and lower to 17 and higher. The first flight will play both courses from 6,800 yards.
