WATERSOUND BEACH, Fla. -- Camp Creek Golf Club -- the award-winning Tom Fazio design developed by St. Joe and located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast – will host the 6th Annual Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic on Monday, March 19.

The goal of the 2007 tournament is to raise $125,000 for Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast to benefit the future expansion of its heart and vascular services. Since its inception in 2002, the event has raised close to $1 million for the Sacred Heart Hospital and its renowned programs.

Entry fees for the tournament are as follows: four-person team ($5,000), two-persons ($2,500), individual ($1,250). Hole sponsorships are available for $1,000. The format is a shotgun scramble that starts at 10 a.m. Breakfast will be served prior to the start of the tournament and lunch will be provided on-course by up to three local area restaurants. Participants can take part in an awards party following the tournament that will feature numerous prizes, team awards and a special drawing.

"The support of our community and for this great event helps ensure high-quality, compassionate healthcare right here on the Emerald Coast," says Roger Hall, president of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

“Camp Creek and St. JOE are honored to host the Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic and to help raise money for and awareness of the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast,” says Will Hopkins, Camp Creek general manager. “St. JOE’s continued Master Sponsorship of the tournament is a testament to this enduring partnership.”

The Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic will be contested on Camp Creek’s challenging, “dunescape” layout, host site of a U.S. Open local qualifier on May 14. Camp Creek hosted the Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic in 2003 and 2005, and is slated to host the event 2009 and 2011.

About Camp Creek
Since opening in 2001, Camp Creek has been consistently cited as one of Tom Fazio's most thought-provoking, aesthetically-stunning design credits. Featuring a unique “dunescape” appearance, the course was created as a private club for property owners at select St. Joe communities, and guests of St. Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound Beach resorts. From the back green tees, the course plays to a championship caliber yardage of 7,159 and a formidable slope rating of 145. Camp Creek’s five-tee configuration, which also includes gold (senior) and red (women’s) tees, accommodates players of all skill and experience levels. Travel + Leisure Golf recently recognized Camp Creek as “Florida’s No. 1 Course of the New Millennium.” It has also been recognized for its environmental stewardship through designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS). Superintenden! t Larry Livingston was similarly distinguished as a certified Audubon Steward.
