PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The PGA of America in association with PGA Magazine Publications & Marketing Group announced the introduction of a series of new e-mails geared towards helping PGA Teaching Professionals improve their golf instruction business. A past PGA National Teacher of the Year, PGA Section Teacher of the Year or other leading PGA golf instructors will write each weekly e-mail.
Starting in April, an audience of more than 2,500 PGA teaching professionals will begin receiving PGA Best Practices: Teaching content via e-mail. The short pieces will cover the business elements of golf instruction – including topics such as customer service, clinics, pricing, marketing, equipment fitting, teaching women, new teaching technology and growing the game – that will help all PGA golf instructors improve their teaching businesses.
"Each week, PGA Teaching Professionals will be exposed to award-winning best practices in a quick and easy format designed to help them make their own lesson business more successful," said Brian Whitcomb, President of The PGA of America. "And the expertise behind each best practice will come directly from fellow PGA Professionals who have excelled in teaching."
Recipients of the PGA Best Practices: Teaching e-mail program will include PGA teaching professionals (A-6 classification), directors of instruction (A-14 classification), PGA Teacher of the Year award winners at the section and national level from the past 10 years, and attendees of the 2006 PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit. All PGA Best Practices: Teaching content will be archived on PGAmagazine.com for future reference. Any PGA Professionals who are not included in the aforementioned categories can opt into the program by sending a request to Patrick Cherry at pcherry@pgamagazine.com.
Also, coming in May, The PGA of America will launch PGA Best Practices: Retailing, featuring best practices from PGA Section and National Merchandisers of the Year. This will be the second in this PGA Best Practices e-mail series.
