Cog Hill names Chris Flick as Golf Course Superintendent

LEMONT, Ill. -- Cog Hill Golf and Country Club announced today that Chris Flick has been named Golf Course Superintendent. He will oversee Cog Hill's four courses, including the nationally-ranked Dubsdread.

Flick, 30, comes to Cog Hill with an impressive resume. Prior to Cog Hill he was golf course superintendent at National Trail Parks and Recreation District in Springfield, Ohio, which consist of 54-holes, multi-site golf facility. Prior to National Trail, he was an assistant superintendent for three years at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Muirfield Village Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus designed course and home to the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament. Muirfield is currently ranked No. 14 on Golf Digest's list of America's Greatest Golf Courses.

"Chris comes very highly recommended by our former golf course superintendent, Scott Pavalko and others in the industry," said Katherine Jemsek, president, Jemsek Golf. "He has a strong background in A1A4 bentgrass greens which is used on Dubsdread and also in a system similar to our SubAir system. The transition will be very smooth and he will be able to hit the ground running and get the courses ready for the upcoming season."

Flick is a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in Turfgrass Management. Flick will relocate to the Chicago area and start at Cog Hill on April 7.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the continuing history and tradition at Cog Hill," said Flick. "In my mind, both the club and the Jemsek family are synonymous with excellence in this business, and it is truly an honor to be able to work with both."
