November 22, 2004, Sunset Beach, N.C. — Ocean Ridge Plantation Golf will host golfers from through out Brunswick County, Dec. 3rd through Dec. 5th, 2004 for the inaugural Brunswick Beacon Tournament Of Champions. Members from Brunswick County golf clubs are encouraged to attend the tournament in support of their club champions.
The Brunswick Beacon Tournament Of Champions is an invitational tournament for men and women including approximately 12 Brunswick County Club Champions for 2004. In addition to the tournament there will be an after party and an awards gala in the Tiger’s Eye Golf Links clubhouse.
“We are very excited to be hosting this event,” said Tom Plankers, director of golf at Ocean Ridge Plantation. “This tournament came from the grassroots, a suggestion that came from the club members. The club champions wanted to take their winning to a higher level and we feel honored to help them in growing the game of golf in Brunswick County.”
To be eligible to participate in the Brunswick Beacon Tournament Of Champions golfers must have won their club championship in either match play or stroke play competition without handicaps. Net champions are not eligible.
