ORLANDO, Fla. -- Monday night's third episode of Big Break Florida (21st season of Golf Channel’s Big Break reality competition 11-part series) garnered an average of 441,000 viewers, making it the most-watched Big Break episode as well as the most-watched episode premiere of any Golf Channel "original series" -- surpassing The Haney Project with Charles Barkley in March, 2009 (435,000 viewers) and Feherty with Lee Trevino in June, 2011 (368,000 viewers).
Despite not featuring live golf coverage, Golf Channel was the 2nd-highest rated sports network Monday night from 9-10 p.m. ET behind ESPN.
Monday’s Big Break Florida episode was +63% vs. Big Break Mexico episode 3 in Spring, 2013 and +67% vs. Big Break NFL Puerto Rico episode 3 in Fall, 2013.
Most-watched Big Break episode in 17 seasons since Golf Channel began reporting official daily ratings in 2006, beginning with Big Break V: Hawaii.
Big Break Florida is the 21st season of Golf Channel’s longest running original series. This season features a cast of 12 female aspiring professional golfers who are competing for more than $175,000 in cash and prizes – the largest collection of prizes in series history – and an opportunity to play on the LPGA TOUR at the 2014 Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.
