Legacy of the Links unveils name of inaugural Hall of Fame Honoree

Legacy of the Links experienced success in every way at its inaugural Top 100 Invitational event held at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Orlando, FL, immediately following the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show.

According to Legacy of the Links Co-founders Taba Dale and Kevin McGrath, the 2014 event paves the way for an annual Top 100 Invitational tournament, one that will be played at a "Top 100" venue, domestic and/or international.

At the inaugural event, participation included golfers representing 24 clubs/courses from both the U.S. and World "Top 100" ranking lists. The impressive list included Ballybunion GC, Bay Hill Club, Bellerive CC, Bonita Bay Club, Chechessee Creek Club, Isleworth G&CC, Lahinch GC, Loch Lomond GC, Machrihanish GC, Merion GC, North Berwick GC, Pete Dye Club, Pine Valley GC, Portmarnock GC, Riviera CC, Royal Dornoch GC, Secession GC, St. Andrews Old Course, The Concession GC, The Golf Club New Albany, TPC Sawgrass, Victoria National GC and Yale GC. Players enjoyed participating in the 18-hole Stableford event at Isleworth G&CC, one of Florida's most exclusive golf clubs.

The overall winner of the 2014 event was Ms. Mayumi Ishii Post representing Riviera Country Club. Legacy of the Links Co-Founder, Kevin McGrath presented Post with the Winner's Trophy created by Tipperary Crystal of Ireland, the event sponsor. Others taking home crystal included Alan Pope of The Concession GC (2nd place), Par Widmark from Sweden representing Loch Lomond GC (3rd place) and Bill Lynch of Merion GC (Best Gross). All participants received an exquisite Tipperary Crystal bowl tee gift.

Immediately following the awards luncheon (held on site in the private Palladian Room), Event Co-founder Taba Dale, announced the creation of the Top 100 Hall of Fame. She also shared the breaking news that Mr. Mike Keiser, Founder of Bandon Dunes (along with several other great golf venues), was the first inductee into the Top 100 Hall of Fame. Dale also used the occasion to unveil the elegant, custom leather-bound Top 100 Hall of Fame diary, a book that will chronicle the names of each honoree commencing with inaugural inductee, Mr. Mike Keiser.

While at the event, participants were invited to nominate (through a survey) their preferred venue for future Top 100 Invitational tournaments. Legacy of the Links is planning to announce its 2015 venue by June 1st.
