FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. -- Players, media and fans will see the new Cure RX2 Putter by Veritas Golf in action this weekend at the Champions Tour Allianz Championship at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton. What has been called by co-inventor by former PGA TOUR Commissioner, Deane Beman, "the most technologically advanced putter ever made," The Cure RX2 was launched at the PGA Merchandise Show last month and is now making its debut in a tournament venue.
The sponsorship is designed to get the putter into the hands of professionals, media and fans by strategically placing it in heavily trafficked areas. For example, in the Expo Area where Great Greens has created a synthetic green, Cure Putters is available for use. On Wednesday morning several Champions Tour players were rolling the RX2 with equal parts fascination and success. The Golf Channel's Holly Sonders hosted a private party on the putting green on Wednesday evening and the Cure Putters were in action there. Immediately after rolling a few putts with the RX2, Ms. Sonders followed Cure Putters on Twitter (@cureputters). There is also a branding component to the sponsorship that includes signage on the main putting green area as well as on the LCD Scoreboards throughout the course.
Said Veritas Golf Company CEO, James P. McCarthy, "We are really excited to be part of the Allianz Championship this year at Broken Sound's Old Course. This is a premiere event and the folks at Allianz along with Hollis Cavner, Bryan Naugle and their staff from Pro Links put on a first class event. Being associated with an event of this stature is definitely a great beginning to a long partnership with Hollis and Bryan at Pro Links." He continued, "The Golf Channel filmed an impromptu segment with Commissioner Beman on the Tour putting green showcasing the RX2. People have been fascinated everywhere we have gone. That is a huge reason why PGA.COM gave us their number one status as a new product coming out of the PGA Show."
Founded by PGA Professional, Jeff Ryan, and partner Steve Davis, an architect with a scratch handicap, the Veritas Golf Company first developed the Cure Rx1 putter, which represented a breakthrough in putter engineering from several perspectives. Based on the highest MOI face in the industry, adjustable lie angles, customizable weights, right or left hand adjustable, Beman says "the Rx1 made every other putter obsolete."
Beman and Davis took that science-based philosophy one step further to develop the revolutionary Cure Rx2 Putter, which incorporates the eye-popping triangulation alignment system developed by Beman. This stunning new putter is simply easier to align than traditional linear alignment putters. The ball forms the "point" of a triangle with the two alignment discs on the heel and toe of the putter. This triangle can be easily, naturally and dependably aimed on the line of the putt. The Cure RX Putters are now available online through the Veritas Website (www.cureputters.com) and through the clubs and stores they signed at the Merchandise Show. The RX1 retails for $199 and the RX2 retails for $269.
