I was out playing golf in Las Vegas this week, and while at Bali Hai, a Pacific-themed golf course with waterfalls, exotic fish and nearly 2,500 palm trees, it snowed.

Yes, it snowed in Vegas - and it was real snow, I think. You can never be too sure on the Strip... It was only intermittently over the course of about an hour, but needless to say, I need a golf trip where the air is warm and the sunshine reigns.

That's right, I'm going to golf in Ireland.

I'll be off on a two-week tour starting tomorrow, doing a very similar trip to the Scotland golf tour I took in October. I'll be starting in Dublin, winding up the coast to Northern Ireland and Northwest Ireland, then finishing up around Shannon before flying home on St. Patty's Day.

I'm curious to see how Ireland compares. Are courses really better than Scotland as some declare? Are roads really more confusing? Do they really have Leprechaun caddies?

The only way to find out is to go, and I'll be blogging wherever I can find some WiFi and Guinness. I'm so confident the weather will be better in Ireland than snowy Vegas, I'm bringing nothing but shorts and sunblock.

Maybe I'll bring a windbreaker ...
