Caddy For A Cure season set to kick off at Farmers Insurance Open

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Caddy For A Cure, Inc., the professional golf opportunity to go inside the ropes and caddy for a day with the world's best players, is proud to announce the 2014 kick off of its program in San Diego at the Farmers Insurance Open. The unique charitable fundraising program will be starting the year with longstanding superstar and former #1 player Lee Westwood.

The 2014 Farmers Insurance Open will be played again at the famous and site of former U.S. Open, Torrey Pines. The tournament dates are January 20th through January 28th and the caddy experience will be Wednesday, January 22nd during the Pro am competition round.

Caddy For A Cure CEO and program founder Russ Holden said "We love kicking off our year at such an exciting event as the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, especially with a player like Lee Westwood. Lee loves giving back from this great sport and has participated with us multiple times in the past, becoming a huge supporter of our program." Holden continued, "We originally had Justin Rose slotted for the event but after his WD due to his shoulder injury, Lee readily stepped up to participate. Our caddy for the day is from the UK and was thrilled with the replacement for Rose." He concluded, "Who knows? This may be the year Westwood wins at Torrey Pines given his great play and 3rd place finish there in the 2008 U.S. Open 1-stroke behind the Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate play-off finish. Either way, it will certainly be another great week in golf and for raising funds for charity."

Caddy For A Cure has been offering PGA TOUR caddy experiences for charity since 2003, and LPGA and Champions Tour experiences since 2010, with proceeds benefiting multiple causes.
