Greater Atlantic City Golf Association reports on honors and accolades

ATLANTIC CITY. N.J. -- In the musical world, a chart-topping hit is an extremely popular recording. Tracking the chart toppers, therefore, becomes critical in promoting recording artists and releases.

Like the Billboard Top 100 sounds, golf courses and golf destinations can too become subjects of chart positioning. They earn their accolades from golf publications and media outlets from across the nation. Golfers, subsequently, flock to various layouts and locales to see what the buzz is all about.

With its wide variety of offerings and high-profile settings, the Atlantic City region is annually a major player in the chart-topping game -- and 2013 was no exception.

As the "runaway best-seller," the Atlantic City Country Club again led the list as the No. 1 public golf course in New Jersey and a Top 40 resort course across America. But that was just a beginning.
