Tim Cooke new Director of Golf Instruction at South Carolina's Sea Pines Resort

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Sea Pines Resort - host of the RBC Heritage held on its famed Harbour Town Golf Links - announces Tim Cooke as its new Director of Golf Instruction.

Cooke comes to The Sea Pines Resort from Hilton Head Island's Long Cove Club where he was director of instruction. Formerly he was the head professional / instructor at Wade Hampton Golf Club (Cashiers, N.C.). Cooke is also cofounder of GOLFPREP - an elite junior training academy. He holds a master's degree in pedagogy from the University of Virginia.

In 2009, Cooke was awarded "Master Professional in Instruction" status by the PGA of America. Due to his work with junior golfers, he was recognized as a "U.S. Kids Top 50 Instructor" (2009). Cooke has been named to Golf Digest's "Best Young Teachers" (2010 - 2013). Golf Digest also recognized him as one of the top teachers in South Carolina for 2013 / 2014.

Cooke's instructional articles have been featured in Golf Illustrated and Golf Digest. He has additionally made several guest appearances on Golf Channel's "The Turn" as well as an instructional segment which ran this year on Golf Channel.com's "Weekly Fix."

Cooke will work out of The Sea Pines Resort's new 23,000 sq. ft. clubhouse and state-of-the-art golf learning center located at its Heron Point and Ocean courses which opens in early 2014.
