COVINGTON, Ga. -- Fred Couples has been the face of Bridgestone Golf since the brand's inception in 2005. This weekend, Couples, one of most popular players on any tour, closed out the 2013 Champions Tour season in championship fashion, relying on his Bridgestone TOUR B330 golf ball and Bridgestone J40 irons en route to a 6-shot victory at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
Couples had the Bay Area buzzing, carding rounds of 65-65-68-69 for a 17-under par total and besting three others by six shots at the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The win marks Hall of Famer Couples 9th career Champions Tour win in just 4 seasons.
In his march to victory, Couples put on a driving clinic, showcasing both the power and accuracy of the TOUR B330 golf ball. For the week, 54-year old Couples ranked 1st in driving distance with an incredible 301.8 yards per drive and 6th in driving accuracy, hitting an impressive 74% of his fairways. The incredible driving set up many birdie opportunities, as Couples converted 22 through four rounds - leading the field in that category, as well.

"Fred has been close all season, so to see him put together 4 fantastic rounds and break through with a win in the last event of the year is great," said Dan Murphy, Executive Vice President of Marketing/Sales - Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "Fred has been a tremendous ambassador for the Bridgestone brand as he continues to be one of the most exciting players in golf to watch. Few players can catch fire, boom the ball and string together a ton of birdies to excite an entire gallery like Freddie can."
