MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Sequoia Golf has expanded its network for the first time into the Pacific Northwest with the addition of its latest club, Mill Creek Country Club in Mill Creek, Wash.
"We chose Sequoia because we believe they have a long term interest in making Mill Creek Country Club a successful member-owned club, and we are the start of Sequoia's commitment to golf in the Northwest," said Paul Clampitt, president of Mill Creek's Board of Trustees.
Complemented by the club's namesake Mill Creek which winds through the property, Mill Creek Country Club features 18 holes of championship golf designed by Ted Robinson as well as club dining and private event facilities in a picturesque mountain setting.
"We interviewed other golf management companies. Sequoia was the most professional and believable, and presented themselves as the type of people we wanted to work with," said Mill Creek's Board of Trustees Treasurer Tom Libby. "They showed a clear understanding of our situation and presented a realistic vision for how they could help the Club deal with its issues and move forward. We talked to a number of clubs in other areas that Sequoia manages and their comments were that Sequoia delivered beyond expectations."
Through the management agreement which began on Sept. 16, Sequoia will leverage its vast experience working with high-end private clubs to increase the value of club memberships and the overall quality of the member experience. Part of Sequoia's unique member services is its PlayAway program, which gives Mill Creek members access to its network of 450 private and resort clubs across North America.
"It is an exciting time for Sequoia, and expansion into a new market as a managing partner will enhance our offerings to the members of Mill Creek and the Sequoia network alike," said Joe Guerra, president and CEO of Sequoia Golf. "We're fortunate for this opportunity and feel that we will prove to be a valuable asset to the Mill Creek membership."
