Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday spokesman Dustin Johnson wins WGC-HSBC Champions

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday congratulates Dustin Johnson - official spokesman of the Grand Strand's golf marketing cooperative -- on winning the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament held this past week at Sheshan International GC in Shanghai, China.

Johnson secured a three-shot victory with a dazzling back-nine 31 to edge final-round charges from Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell for his eighth PGA TOUR victory (and first on the European Tour). With the win over the stellar field counting toward the 2014 campaign, it marks the second consecutive season Johnson has opened his year with a win after capturing the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Johnson appears in numerous marketing materials including print, radio ads, social media and a 30-second television commercial showcasing his talents and affinity for the Myrtle Beach area. He owns a home in Myrtle Beach and is active in the community through his foundation. Johnson graduated from the area's Coastal Carolina University and sponsors the General Hackler Championship each spring.
