Shawn McKinnon named GM at Georgia's Berkeley Hills Country Club

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Mosaic Clubs & Resorts has promoted Shawn McKinnon to general manager at Berkeley Hills Country Club, a private club in the northern Atlanta suburb of Duluth, Ga.

McKinnon brings a 25-year club and golf management background to Berkeley Hills. He most recently was director of golf at the club since 2001. Prior to that, McKinnon was head golf professional for seven years at Settindown Creek Golf Club in Roswell, Ga. He previously held management positions at Horseshoe Bend Country Club, also in Roswell, and the Polo Club in Boca Raton, Fl.

McKinnon attend the University of Florida. He is active in the Duluth and Gwinnett County communities, hosting and managing a myriad of fund-raising events for organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Gwinnett Department of Children's Family Services and Fragile Kids.

Berkeley Hills was originally established in 1964 by a group of developers, then purchased by the membership in April 1984. It remains one of the few member-owned clubs today in metro-Atlanta, and will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2014.

In addition to championship golf, Berkeley Hills Country Club offers its membership eight lighted tennis courts, including two clay courts, a lap pool and diving well, expansive fitness center, a board room and three private event rooms, plus casual dining in the Mixed Grill and Bar. Berkeley Hills is the home course for the Georgia State University men's golf team. Additionally, Berkeley Hills Country Club recently restructured its membership program, making private club membership more affordable to all.

Mosaic Clubs & Resorts, one of the fastest growing golf management companies in the country, was retained earlier this year to manage Berkeley Hills Country Club.
