Caddy For A Cure announces 7th annual fundraiser golf tournament

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Caddy For A Cure, Inc., the organization that raises support for combat wounded veterans, Fanconi anemia and multiple regional causes around the world thru offering professional golf caddy experiences, announces its 7th annual fundraiser golf tournament. The Liberty Mutual Invitational benefitting Caddy For A Cure will be held Monday, December 9th, 2013 at Parkland Golf Club in South Florida. Parkland Golf Club is a private, Greg Norman design that is one of the best courses and facilities in the Southeastern United States.

In addition to being the capstone fundraising event for Caddy For A Cure, the golf tournament is one of the final events of the year in the Liberty Mutual Invitational amateur tournament series where participants can qualify for a spot in the national finals. The Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational national finals will be held in the spring at Pinehurst, site of the 2014 U.S. Open.

As part of the day's activities, Caddy For A Cure has partnered with American Fallen Soldier to recognize and honor Army Sgt. Thomas Bohall. Infantryman Bohall, who joined the Army in 2005 was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY in 2008. Along with five other soldiers in his unit, Bohall died May 26, 2011 in Spin Boldak, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Bohall had earned several decorations and awards and served in missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Sgt. Bohall's survivors include his wife, Jessica, and daughter, Annabelle, both of Essington, PA, as well as his parents Tim and Marla Bohall, and Lorna Geist of Bel Aire, KS.

Caddy For A Cure CEO and program founder Russ Holden said "We are so grateful to Liberty Mutual Insurance to enable us to host an event where our guests can enjoy the great game of golf while helping others in the process. We are especially honored to have the opportunity to recognize Sgt. Bohall, along with a group of combat wounded veterans and Fanconi anemia patients we are bringing in to enjoy the day." He continued, "Although fundraising is our primary goal for the tournament, this is an especially unique event because of our experience in professional golf. We include many special features to the day that you don't find at most charity events and dare to say our event rivals anything in the country. It's a wonderful day for our guests at the Parkland Golf Club, excellent exposure for our sponsors and provides financial assistance and support to many in need."

Caddy For A Cure has been offering PGA TOUR caddy experiences for charity since 2003, and LPGA and Champions Tour experiences since 2010, with proceeds benefiting multiple causes.
