Kentucky's Arlington Club retains KemperSports for club management

NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- KemperSports, the most trusted name in golf, announced that it has been selected to manage The Arlington Club, a private country club located in Richmond, KY - 25 miles southeast of Lexington, KY. Built in 1969, the 18-hole, par-72 golf course is located on a former 193-acre estate which includes the 150-year-old Arlington Mansion.

In addition to the championship golf course, the club facilities include a golf clubhouse with a pro shop, grill room and locker rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, six lighted tennis courts and the "Mule Barn," which can host group functions and casual events.

"The Arlington Club has long been recognized as a popular social and recreational part of the local community with a great membership," said Steve Skinner, chief executive officer of KemperSports. "We look forward to engaging the members on ways to improve the member experience and grow the club."

"We are excited to welcome KemperSports to the community and The Arlington Club and know professional management will benefit the club and our members going forward," said Barry Poynter of the Arlington Board. "Arlington's Board of Directors is committed to providing a positive and memorable club experience to our members and their guests."

Upon assuming management duties, KemperSports will evaluate all aspects of the club including membership categories and programs, the condition of the physical plant and ways in which the Mansion House can be used by members for events. In addition, KemperSports will actively engage the membership to get their feedback and opinions on how to improve the club and attract more new members.

The Arlington Club is also the home course to the Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's golf teams as well as the EKU Professional Golf Management program. The PGM program has a separate practice and learning center next to The Arlington Club golf course.
