Two Atlanta-area Canongate golf courses receive $600,000 facelift

ATLANTA -- Canongate Golf, the Southeast's leading private golf club network, announced the renovation of two Atlanta-area courses has been completed. Chapel Hills Golf Club in Douglasville, Ga. and Windermere Golf Club in Cumming, Ga., are two of many luxury courses that underwent construction during the 2013 summer season. Both Canongate operated courses underwent a $300,000 greens renovation and improvement that included the replacement of the original Bentgrass putting surfaces with high-quality Mini Verde Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass.

For optimal results, the conversion took place during the summer months due to meet the required hours of direct sunlight provided by high temperatures and long days. Mini Verde Ultra Dwarf Bermuda has a strong reputation throughout the industry for providing quality play year-round. Its consistent putting surface, minimal maintenance, tolerance to temperature extremes and recovery from foot traffic, makes it the grass of choice in the Southeast.

"At Canongate Golf we work hard to ensure our members have access to the best courses and greens available," said Joe Guerra, president and CEO of Canongate Golf. "Chapel Hills and Windermere are just two of several Atlanta clubs that underwent renovations this summer and we are proud to be a part of a golfing community that is on the forefront of the greens renovation and technology trend."

Canongate Golf previously installed Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass at six additional Atlanta area courses including Whitewater Creek, Eagle Watch, White Oak, Olde Atlanta, Bentwater and Smoke Rises Golf Clubs. The $1.5 million investment has given golfers the opportunity to play on both Bermuda and Bentgrass, making the best greens accessible year-round.
