First annual MBS Elite Celebrity Golf Challenge for charity set

MBS Elite Celebrity Golf Challenge, a Tournament for Charity, will host its first annual event of the series at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, April 14, 2007.

There will be up to 15 celebrities from T.V., Radio, and Sports (NFL, PGA, MLB), such as Steve Irvin ABC 15 news anchor, Tim Unroe – Brewers/Angels, Moe Layton (Suns/Spurs/Knicks), Dan Manucci (Buffalo Bills/Am Sports Radio 1060Host), Jay Taylor (Cardinals), Jocelyn Lemieux (played almost 600 NHL hockey games from Montreal to Long Beach), playing in the tournament alongside our participants.

The tournament will benefit The 100 Club of Arizona, which is a benevolent, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation committed to “Standing Behind the Men and Women Who Stand Behind the Badge.” The mission of the 100 Club of Arizona is to provide financial assistance to families of public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line-of-duty, and to provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare. As a volunteer, community-based organization, the officers and members of the 100 Club are committed to supporting the needs of public safety agencies and their front-line officers and firefighters who place their lives at risk while in the performance of their duties.

The Legacy Golf Resort
This 18-hole championship Phoenix Golf course was the site of the 2000 LPGA Standard Register Ping tournament and was designed by renowned golf course architect Gary Panks, The Legacy Golf course's lush green fairways, forgiving rough, well-placed hazards, and manicured greens offer a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Indigenous grasses, flowers, shrubs and trees surround the rolling terrain. Its elevation provides exceptional views of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the downtown Phoenix skyline.

Individuals without a team will be paired up. A team can save $80.00 by registering prior to March 15th for $520.00 (portions are tax deductible).
