Harbor Club on Lake Oconee in Georgia offering new model home

GREENSBORO, Ga. -- One year ago Harbor Club was celebrating its Gala 20th Anniversary and looking back at two decades of cherished memories on the shores of Lake Oconee. Now the community breaks ground on a new home in the Lake Ridge community that offers a spacious, versatile floor plan at a price point that might pleasantly surprise home seekers.

The Lake Ridge neighborhood, with more than 19 recently released lots, is a group of tranquil streets that frame a series of ponds. Harbor Club General Manager Brandon Matney describes the new, two-level model home - the Silverlake - as "Lake Oconee Casual," an open floor plan with over 3,200 square feet. A year in the planning, the home is being built by Patriot Home Builders of Greensboro.

Real estate offerings at Harbor Club are being marketed in a partnership with Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty. Tom Martin, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker said, "Recent statistics show homes sales are trending up plus the options homeowners are seeking continue to shift. Collectively, we have exhausted our efforts to include most of the features desired by today's family, second home and retirement buyer for a very attractive cost. In short, to say we are excited about this new product may be somewhat of an understatement."

Matney agreed, saying "the Silverlake is a great option for those homebuyers who are interested in a spacious home with options that allow them to live an active lifestyle with all of the amenities you would expect in a gated community at a great value."

"The Silverlake is a versatile 3-bedroom plan that will accommodate a growing family or empty nesters who might enjoy family or entertaining," Matney said. "The home has a variety of inviting architectural details, such as natural stone accents around the foundation, arched windows, broad covered porches, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and a two-car garage."

The hallmark of the home, however, is found in its floor plan, which has been crafted to provide ultimate flexibility, all spawned from the input gained through conversations with scores of current residents and prospective home owners.

The Silverlake's flexible plan on the main floor has a Great Room with fireplace, open concept eat-in kitchen, a master suite, and a formal dining room. The dining room can be modified prior to construction into an additional main-floor bedroom or a study.

Further flexibility lies on the terrace level, where two bedrooms and baths frame a multi-use family recreation space that opens out to a ground level covered porch and the back lawn. An additional 800 sq. ft. of unfinished space on the terrace level can be converted to a media room or used for off-season storage of outdoor grills, lawn furniture, kayaks and other recreational equipment.

Upstairs, an unfinished, but airy 400 sq. ft. bonus room over the garage can easily be upgraded to a home business office, playroom or in-law suite.

The fully furnished Silverlake model home is expected to be completed in early November.
