Fujikura tops driver shaft brand count at Greenbrier Classic

VISTA, Calif. -- Fujikura has consistently won the #1 Driver Shaft Brand count on the PGA Tour, so it was no surprise when the Darrell Survey reported Fujikura #1 at the 2013 Greenbrier Classic.

In addition to #1 driver shaft brand on the PGA Tour, the Fujikura FUEL just received the highly respected Golf Tips Tech Award for Best New Shaft of 2013 and Best New Technology of 2013.

Beyond the winning driver and woods shafts Fuel and Motore Speeder, there is a new Fujikura golf shaft that is creating quite a buzz on and off the course. The new M.C.I. (Metal Composite Irons) has become a hot conversation topic amongst industry leaders and golf enthusiasts alike. Fujikura's engineering team has developed another game changing technology - Metal Composite Technology. When comparing graphite shafts with steel shafts, graphite's center of gravity is located on the butt side of the club which affects the ability to achieve a desirable swing balance. In order to improve this, additional materials are wound on the tip side to add weight. This creates greater balance, but also higher rigidity overall. In the new MCI (Metal Composite Irons), Metal Composite Technology was developed to combine the best attributes of steel and graphite into one revolutionary composite shaft. Increased hitting ability, even weight distribution, and individual length brings perfect flow of frequency and torque within advanced golf swings.

Adam Smith, PGA Director of Instruction Salisbury Country Club , 2008 MAPGA Teacher of the Year, Golf Digest Best in State, and US Kids Honorable Mention, commented on his experience testing the new MCI from Fujikura:

"The MCI shaft is in my 6 iron. Thank you for the opportunity to test it! On a recent PGA Ambassador golf trip to Streamsong Resort, I put it into play and the results were remarkable.

I chose the 120 gram shaft and I love it. It replaced my Dynamic Gold s300 and the ball flight is much more consistent. The shots feel more solid. It is very workable. I tend to hook the ball due to an occasional swing error, but this shaft really hits it straighter for me. I can flight the ball down if I wish and hit my fade on command with no effort. A memorable, near-hole-in-one shot on my trip was with my six iron on a par 3, playing 17 5yards, downhill, but into a one-club wind. I was very pleased with the penetrating ball flight and can trust this shaft not to balloon upwards, into a heavy face wind. My rounds of golf were 76,79,74, and 77. The wind was ripping every day and I used my six iron frequently, for shots from 165-180 yards."

About the Winning Shafts
The Motore Speeder Series shafts feature Fujikura's proprietary and proven H.I.T. which stores more energy during the downswing and releases the energy just before impact, while maintaining the stability of the entire club. The result is greater distance and accuracy in all clubs. Motore's "smart" shaping of the tip enables these benefits while minimizing weight, allowing the tip end to accelerate faster than conventional tips.

FUEL can be defined as material with stored energy that can later be used to generate power. Just like a high performance engine that burns high-octane fuel for more horsepower and torque, your shaft can perform the same way - using advanced technology as its fuel. With FUEL, you can see where your energy is coming from through our proprietary FUEL ROD TECHNOLOGY, created with a COMBUSTION CHAMBER and LOAD INJECTOR TIP. FUEL uniquely utilizes this technology to generate greater distance and accuracy on a more consistent basis. With this shaft, your power is on display for everyone to see.
