OMEGA announces signing Harris English and Kyle Stanley to deals

OMEGA, the Swiss watchmaker, announced that Harris English has joined its team as a brand ambassador.

English, 23, is considered to be one of the most-talented young players on the PGA Tour and OMEGA is proud to welcome him to the family. He joins a roster of ambassadors featuring many golf stars and leading figures from the world of entertainment.

First PGA Tour victory
English won his first PGA Tour event on Sunday, June 9 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in his second year on the PGA Tour.

Harris English's victory at the St. Jude Classic was his first tour win in 44 starts and it was his fourth top-10 finish of 2013. He birdied holes 16 and 17 to finish the tournament at 12-under-par and won by two shots over Phil Mickelson and Scott Stallings.

Stephen Urquhart, the president of OMEGA, was excited by English's performance at the weekend. He said, "We want to congratulate Harris on his first victory. We know he is a very special player and it was only a matter of time before he won." He added, "We are thrilled to have Harris join the OMEGA family. We know that he will represent the OMEGA brand well, with class and dignity."

A competitive force in the game of golf
With nine "Top 25" and three "Top 10" finishes in his rookie season in 2012, American golfer Harris English has already established himself as a competitive force in the game of golf.

The four-time All-American athlete from the University of Georgia turned professional in September of 2011 following his triumph at the 2011 Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational and becoming one of only three amateurs to win the event.

The brand is thrilled to work alongside such a gifted young golfer. Harris is bound to achieve greatness and his spot in OMEGA's ambassador family is well-deserved.

OMEGA signs Kyle Stanley
Partnership underscores watch brand's commitment to the sport of golf
June, 2013 - OMEGA, the Swiss watchmaker, announced today that Kyle Stanley has joined the team as a brand ambassador.

OMEGA is proud to welcome Stanley, 25,to the family. He joins a roster of ambassadors featuring many golf stars leading figures from the world of entertainment.

Driven by his passion for the game and extreme focus on his goals, American golfer Kyle Stanley established himself as an elite player even before he turned professional in 2009.

Ranked first in driving distance
A two-time All-American athlete from Clemson University, Kyle shattered 18 university records in his first year. In 2009, he received The Ben Hogan Award, the most prestigious award in college golf, which recognises an outstanding male amateur and collegiate golfer. He was ranked first in driving distance on the Nationwide Tour with an average of 317.7 yards in 2010, and with a combined total of nine "Top 10" and two runner-up finishes in the following two years it is no wonder that the talented player is highly ranked worldwide and in his home country.

Describing his connection to golf, Kyle said: "It has been a passion of mine since I was a little kid. I started playing when I was about five years old when my dad let me hit a few shots when he would play with his buddies. Soon after, I was hooked and playing golf was all that I wanted to do. It is the greatest game and, in my opinion, the sport that presents the toughest mental challenge."

A fierce competitor
Kyle proved himself to be a fierce competitor when he dominated the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open, coming out on top after trailing by eight shots near the end of the final day, a moment he describes as one of his proudest.

It is with great honour that we include Kyle on our impressive roster of golf ambassadors; with his die-hard dedication to perfection and solid skill set, all of us at OMEGA look forward to seeing where his current success takes him.
