PGA Grand Slam of Golf to return to Poipu Bay in 2005

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Nov. 29, 2004 – The PGA of America announced that the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the season-ending showcase of golf's major champions, will return for a 12th consecutive visit, Nov. 22-23, 2005, to scenic Poipu Bay Golf Course and Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa.

The winners of golf's four major championships in 2005 -- The Masters (Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Ga.), U.S. Open (Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, N.C.), Open Championship (St. Andrews, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland) and PGA Championship (Baltusrol Golf Club, Springfield, N.J.), will gather in what professionals have called "the toughest event to qualify for in golf."

The 23rd PGA Grand Slam of Golf will maintain its tradition of a two-day, 36-hole event featuring a $1,000,000 purse. The event is televised to some 88 million U.S. homes by TNT and to more than 100 countries worldwide.

The 22nd PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which runs Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 23-24, features Masters Champion Phil Mickelson, U.S. Open Champion Retief Goosen, British Open winner Todd Hamilton and PGA Champion Vijay Singh.
