The Carolinas have been one of the country's top golf destinations for years. In this week's podcast, host Dave Berner talks to National Golf Editor Tim McDonald about the best golf resorts in North Carolina.
"It is a golf mecca, and it's been that way for years," McDonald says. "I did a top 10 of the resorts in the Carolinas and obviously you almost have to name Pinehurst as the top resort there. If you've never been there, it's really a site to behold."
Up next, TravelGolf.com's Chris Baldwin takes us 3,000 miles west to Arizona, a state he says is second to none when it comes to golf resorts.
"Arizona might not have invented the golf resort, but they think they perfected it," Baldwin says. "There are more AAA five diamond award hotels and resorts in Scottsdale than anywhere in the country but New York."
Looking for the hottest new products in golf? Year in and year out, the PGA Merchandise Show is the place to go. Tim McDonald, who was at this year's show in Orlando, envisions what would happen if your average duffer was able to afford all the toys there, in this week's "TravelGolf.com On Course" commentary.
"So I just kind of imagined what a guy who went there would do if he had the money to buy all that stuff," McDonald says. "Let's say you just came back from the PGA Show, you're loaded with all the latest golf technology. [Now] you're headed out to your home course to show all your buddies what you can do ..."
