TRUCKEE, Calif. -- Coyote Moon Golf Course is set to open Friday, May 17 (weather permitting) with new hires Truckee native, Jarrett Bower, as the facility's PGA Head Golf Professional and Rob Salmela as the new Restaurant Manager for Coyote Moon Bar & Grill.
Since the course's opening day in 2000, Bower has been instrumental in managing an efficient, friendly and highly professional outside service staff. It was in 2010 while working as Coyote Moon's First Assistant Golf Professional that Bower knew he wanted to pursue seriously a career in the golf industry. He graduated from the Professional Golf Management program in just three years (normally this takes five to six years) and became the Head Golf Professional at Coyote Moon in March 2013.
"Jarrett's hard work and dedication along with passion for the game helped him land the Head Golf Professional position. I feel confident he'll exceed all expectations of him," said General Manager of Coyote Moon, Ed McGargill. "As a native of Truckee, Jarrett also truly understands how special Coyote Moon is, as one of the only courses without a single home on it, consistent greens and a true mountain golf experience."
The allure of Coyote Moon Golf Course is not only its "challenging, yet fair greens", but its preserved natural surroundings with not a single home in sight. For those golfers looking to forget the views of home after home and the sound of the freeway hum, Coyote Moon is still THE mountain golf course to make you forget.
Spring special green fees run from May 17 until June 7, 2013 offering early season golfers a $100 fee from opening until 1 p.m.; $75 from 1 p.m. until close. A limited number of ten play packages are available for $750. Package is for purchaser use only.
Regular green fees are $149 until 1 p.m. and $120 midday from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Twilight rate is $95. Fees include a practice station, practice balls and a golf cart. Special NCGA Member Rate is $125 until 1 p.m. and $95 after. For tee times and information about group rates visit www.coyotemoongolf.com or call 530.587.0886. Coyote Moon is also on Facebook.
Coyote Moon prides itself as a premier course for tournament groups. Special discounted rates are available during May, June, and October and during "off peak" days and times throughout the season. Tournament groups may make reservations up to a year in advance. To book a tournament group, please visit www.coyotemoongolf.com, or call 530.587.0886.
Coyote Moon Bar & Grill
From developing a menu for a little Café called "Mom's Kitchen" in Minnesota to cooking up creations for the 2005 World Series, the 2012 Ryder Cup, the 2008-2012 Grammy's and the 2004/2008 Democratic and Republican Conventions (to name only a few culinary highlights), Chef Rob Salmela in 2013 joined Coyote Moon Golf Course as its Restaurant Manager.
A new menu item already on the Bar & Grill's 'A list' is the Grilled Fish Tacos with tequila lime dressing and fresh fish. In fact, all ingredients used in various menu items like the chicken, turkey, steak and veggie wraps are all fresh. Another new and healthier item on the 2013 menu is a Turkey Burger.
"We are really focused on ensuring a top notch experience for all our guests. Our location on Northwoods Boulevard makes us a perfect spot for those in Tahoe Donner to stop for lunch, along with for those just looking for a new place to enjoy a simple lunch, beer or snack. Now we offer healthier options in addition to our typical bar items," said McGargill. "Rob brings a wealth of culinary knowledge to the Bar & Grill."
Coyote Moon Bar & Grill offers Happy Hour from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday - Thursday with beer and food specials. In addition, for 2013, the Bar & Grill will highlight daily lunch specials, an item that is not typically on the menu.
Coyote Moon's open-air restaurant is as secluded as its pristine course with French doors leading to a brick patio boasting views of Mt. Judah, Truckee and the Sierras. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and appetizers. The dining facility is a unique find for a special occasion whether it's a wedding, reception, corporate lunch or 50th wedding anniversary. The privacy, natural beauty and dramatic vistas are awe-inspiring to most any guest. For more information about booking an event, call 530.587.0886.
