Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort in Md. goes smoke-free Feb. 1

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort – named a AAA Four Diamond Resort for the sixth consecutive year and home to the state’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course – today announces the entire facility will become smoke-free as of Feb. 1.
Rocky Gap is making this health-conscience move amidst a series of enhancements. Going smoke-free not only creates a more eco-friendly environment, but it also shields guests and employees from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke.

“We’re proud to make this proactive move to a smoke-free resort, tying in nicely with our Garden Spa and myriad outdoor amenities – all of which promote health and happiness,” says General Manager Steele Edwards. “The well-being and overall satisfaction of our guests is foremost in this action and we feel the health benefits will be far-reaching.”

In addition to making the move to smoke-free, Rocky Gap has enhanced its Garden Spa, upgraded each guest suite with new bedding and pillow-top mattresses, upgraded the exercise room, and initiated extensive agronomic improvements to the championship golf course.
Along with golf and spa facilities, Rocky Gap offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including everything from fishing, kayaking and sporting clays to tennis, swimming and hiking through miles of marked mountain trails.
