Inaugural Golf Shop to spotlight top golf apparel designers

NORWALK, Conn. – Nov. 24, 2004 – PGA Golf Exhibitions have announced the return of the popular daily fashions shows and the first-ever Dream Golf Shop at the industry’s 52nd PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 27-30, 2005. Both programs are part of the PGA Magazine Fashion Fairway presented in partnership with The Golf Channel and Bauer International.

“The daily fashion shows and the Dream Golf Shop were designed to drive business and build on the growing energy level of the apparel section at the PGA Merchandise Show,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President and Show Manager Ed Several. “Both programs underscore our commitment to identifying programs that can positively impact the way our customers do business. We are fortunate to have partners like PGA Magazine, The Golf Channel and Bauer who help us take these programs to the next level and add to the industry excitement throughout the Show floor.”

The sold-out fashion shows will take place January 27 - 29, three times daily at 11a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Buyers will be able to view first-hand the hottest trends in golf fashion from 20 apparel companies as models bring the latest trends, colors and fabrics to life on the runway.

Produced by Jackie Walker of Option Dressing, the fashion shows will feature music, lights, an elevated runway, tiered-seating and a live video screen. The Golf Channel will broadcast special fashion show programming as part of its daily live coverage from the show floor. Players Turf International will design a unique putting green runway for the shows as well.

The inaugural Dream Golf Shop, presented by Bauer International, is a 1,000 square-foot replica of a high-end golf shop featuring the latest golf fashions, top merchandising concepts and recognition of The PGA of America’s Merchandisers of the Year.

More than 40 golf apparel companies will display their latest fashions on top furnishings and fixtures provided by Bauer International. A special sweepstakes will be offered in the Dream Golf Shop open to all PGA Professionals or industry retailers. The Grand Prize will award all clothing and accessories from the Dream Golf Shop (or current inventory) with an estimated value of approximately $20,000. No purchase is necessary. Organized in partnership with The PGA of America, the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 27-30, will host more than 45,000 PGA Professionals, retailers and industry leaders to preview the products and services of more than 1,100 golf-related exhibitors within 500,000 net square feet of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
