Davis to lead Nike Golf U.S.

Nov. 23, 2004 – Nike Golf has announced the appointment of Cindy Davis to U.S. General Manager, effective January 2005, according to company president Bob Wood.

Davis is currently a Senior Vice President for The Golf Channel (TGC) based in Orlando, Fla. In her 13 years in the golf industry, Davis has also held senior leadership positions at the LPGA and at The Arnold Palmer Golf Company while sitting on the Advisory Board for Golf 20/20 and acting as Chairman of the National Golf Foundation Board of Directors (2002-2004).

"Cindy Davis is a leader and a respected veteran of the golf industry," said Wood. "She has proven that she has the skill set and the imagination to effectively manage Nike Golf's business, and to help elevate the company to an even greater position within the industry."

Davis will oversee the U.S. business for Nike Golf, including sales, operations, marketing and sports marketing while reporting directly to Wood. The position was formerly held by David Pillsbury, who departed in August to accept the role of Chief Operating Officer for the PGA Tour Golf Course Properties.

Davis has overseen three business divisions for the TGC, including: golf sponsorships encompassing all marketing and advertising relationships with golf and travel companies; sports marketing including all tournament marketing affairs with the professional Tours and Golf Channel-owned event properties; and, new media highlighted by TheGolfChannel.com business.

>From mid-1997 through 2000, Davis acted as Executive Vice President and General Manager then President and CEO of The Arnold Palmer Golf Company. Under her watch, Davis managed the company through a turn-around, from suffering significant losses to a break-even scenario. Before departing for TGC, Davis introduced the NancyLopezGolf brand, expanded the company's international presence and streamlined operations while reducing operational costs.

While at the LPGA, Davis championed the Tour's corporate licensing, promotional and media programs, marketing and communications efforts, and 1,000-member Teaching and Club Professional Division.

Davis is a graduate of Furman University where she was a NCAA First Team All America golfer. She received her MBA in Marketing/Finance from the University of Maryland. Earlier this month Davis completed the New York City Marathon, her fourth 26.2-mile race.
