TGA Premier Junior Golf launches its sixth franchise in Texas

SAN ANTONIO -- TGA Premier Junior Golf, one of the leading after-school youth sports enrichment programs in the country, has launched its sixth franchise territory in the state of Texas. James Wilson owns the new franchise that will be located in North San Antonio.

"Texas is one of the most popular states in the country for golf and to be launching our sixth franchise territory in the state and continuing to grow the game is very exciting for TGA," said TGA chief operating officer Steve Tanner. "James' passion for the game and his experience as an entrepreneur will be a perfect combination to build a successful junior golf business and positively impact the lives of youth in the San Antonio area."

Wilson, and his wife Melissa, who is a lifetime resident of Texas, have teamed together to bring the first TGA franchise to the Texas Hill Country. Prior to acquiring the TGA franchise, Wilson owned a successful construction company in East Texas, and before that was in land development and environmental regulations in Southern California. A graduate of Purdue University, Wilson has been a long time passionate golfer since high school and had always dreamed of a career in the golf industry. While researching franchises and looking to make a career change, he discovered TGA and its unique opportunity to earn a living in the golf industry while impacting youth and growing the game.

"TGA has provided my wife and I with a great career opportunity in the golf industry developing and building this exciting school-based business model. We are particularly impressed with the enrichment programs that go beyond just learning to play the game," Wilson said. "I would have loved to have TGA when I was young. I believe helping kids, helping a community and helping grow the game of golf all at the same time will lead to an enriched and blessed life."

TGA Premier Junior Golf of North San Antonio is expected to impact thousands of youth annually by introducing the game of golf to children at elementary and middle schools, child care centers and community organizations through a multi-level enrichment program. TGA will then transition students and families from schools to local partner golf courses through camps and parent-child events, creating new golfers and generating new customers for local golf courses.

TGA's Five Level Enrichment Program enables children to advance from one stage to the next while building confidence and self-esteem. The unique curriculum is designed to enrich students' lives through physical activity, health and nutrition and character building. The program also incorporates academic lessons in math, science, social studies and language.

"My wife and I were amazed to find out that the Hill Country (North San Antonio) did not already have a TGA franchise established. This is an area of Texas we have always wanted to permanently call home. We love the people, outdoor activities, culture and live music scene. We are excited to be apart of the community and excited about our future with TGA," Wilson said.
