This event and other "Welcome to Golf" experiences hosted by the Middle Atlantic PGA are part of the PGA of America's initiative to grow the game of golf. Currently, nearly 26 million people across the U.S. are golfers and the goal of the golf industry is to raise that number to 40 million by the year 2020. Through a strategic plan called "Golf 2.0" the PGA of America as well as the LPGA, the PGA Tour, U.S. Golf Association, and many other golf organizations have teamed-up to retain current golfers, engage lapsed golfers and welcome new golfers.
TopGolf is the emerging global leader in golf entertainment, with eight locations serving more than 1.5 million guests annually. Players hit golf balls containing computer microchips that track each shot's accuracy and distance while also awarding points for hitting targets on the outfield. Each facility offers an upscale, laid-back experience that features climate-controlled hitting bays and an impressive food and beverage menu crafted by an executive chef. Mix in dynamic event spaces for groups of all sizes, and TopGolf stands as the premier entertainment complex where the competition of sport meets the neighborhood's favorite hangout.
