Charity calendar features Australia's professional women golfers

13 of Australia's leading professional golf talents have bared almost all in an effort to raise the profile of women's golf and raise valuable funds for breast cancer research.

The initiative of retired Professional female golfer Jenny Sevil has certainly raised some eyebrows in the traditional sense of golf, but is set to prove that the young guard are comfortable not only their golfing talents, but also the glamour that they are bringing to the modern game.

Golfers that featuring include current Ryder Cup European Rookie of the year - Nikki Garrett, USLPGA and Duramed Futres tour players Sarah Jane-Kenyon, Nadina Light (nee Taylor) and emerging USLPGA Future's player, Dana Lacey.

The girls have been professional styled and photographed by award winning photographer Richard De Chazal, with a vintage golf wardbrobe modernised into a fashionable retro theme. The calender, although sensuous is of very high quality and tastefully done.

"Our aim is to get some support and recognition for these girls. They are elite athletes, playing at the top level, yet they are virtually unknown and struggling financially with litle corporate support" said Sevil who is also donating a percentage of funds raised as a founding scholarship fund for young females golfers through the ALPG.

Money is also being raised for the McGrath Foundation, a breast cancer charity that funds training and placement for breast care nurses in regional areas of Australia.

"The girls were happy to donate their time for such a worthy cause. Most of them have been touched in some way by this dreadful disease and are proud to be lending their support to a cause close to the hearts of all women" said Sevil

The calendar can be purchased for US$20 which includes postage and can be ordered online by going to www.womensgolfcalendar.com. The project is also looking for USA based stockists who can assist by providing a much needed retail channel to keep up with the demand.

The calendar is a limited print run and will no doubt become an envied item of sports memorabillia for the future.
