Jerry Porter, Executive Director of the North Florida Section of the PGA of America, announced the appointment of Jeff Gibson PGA to Deputy Director of Operations for the Section. Jeff was formerly the Growth of the Game Coordinator. He will now oversee Marketing and other operations in addition to Growth of the Game Initiatives, such as Swing Into School and Putting for Smiles.
According to Mr. Porter, this is part of a reallignment of the Section Staff to better serve the PGA Membership and the golfing community.
In addition to Mr.Gibson, another Assistant Director will be hired in the near future to assist in operations.
The Executive Board of the NFPGA, under the guideance of President Mike Warobick, Vice President Jack Binswanger and Secretary John Reger, has been working to make the North Florida Section one of the leaders in the golf industry.
Jeff Gibson developed the Swing into School Junior Golf Program along with Clay Thomas
of Westchase Golf Course, which provides programs for schools to teach golf in PE class. To date over 150 schools have been trained and supplied free of charge. The NFPGA intends to continue this trend of leading their communities.
