TULSA, Okla. -- Golf Illustrated University, America’s first online university devoted to golf instruction, will require a “tuition” commitment for students to receive the Ivy League-caliber golf instruction.
Potential Golf Illustrated University (GIU) students will be able to participate in a 30-day trial for $2.99. After that point, they will have the opportunity to become enrolled as a full-time student for $14.99 a year.
With the membership to the online website, GIU students will receive
• Access to current and past “courses”.”
• The chance to participate in The Read (a golf equipment testing opportunity).
• Exclusive Golf Illustrated University student discounts to select online retailers.
• Fantasy golf tournaments.
• Random prizes and contests – on a monthly, weekly and daily basis.
• Special honors courses taught by top PGA Professionals from around the world, including some famous teachers.
Since the website’s launch in August of 2006, Golf Illustrated University has generated an outpour of response among golfers online. GIU quickly gained a large portion of Golf Illustrated’s online traffic, with students returning to read each week’s new lesson in on-going courses.
The change from a free to paid website was made in order to make future ideas possible that will benefit the improvement and online experience of GIU students.
